Professor Anthony Chan is Pro-Vice-Chancellor / Vice-President (Alumni Relations & Advancement) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation Professor of Clinical Oncology, Director of the Sir YK Pao Centre for Cancer, Director of the Hong Kong Cancer Institute, Chief Director of Phase 1 Clinical Trial Centre, Associate Director of the State Key Laboratory of Translational Oncology (CUHK) and Master of Wu Yee Sun College.
Professor Chan is a world leader in clinical and translational research in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He has conducted pivotal studies that set new treatment standards in multimodal approaches to locoregionally advanced disease, developed clinical applications of biomarker Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA, and pioneered immunotherapeutic and targeted therapeutics for the disease. He has published over 400 peer-reviewed articles. Professor Chan was honoured with the European Society for Medical Oncology Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 in recognition of his leadership and outstanding research.

Professor Dennis Lo is the Vice-Chancellor and President and Li Ka Shing Professor of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the President of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences. His research interests focus on the biology and diagnostic applications of cell-free nucleic acids in plasma. In particular, he discovered the presence of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma in 1997 and has since then been pioneering non-invasive prenatal diagnosis using this technology. This technology has been adopted globally and has created a paradigm in prenatal medicine. He has also made many innovations using circulating nucleic acids for cancer detection, including the screening of early stage nasopharyngeal cancer.
In recognition of his research, Professor Lo has been elected as Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Founding Member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the Royal Society and Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences. Professor Lo has won numerous awards, including the 2014 King Faisal International Prize in Medicine, the 2016 Future Science Prize in Life Science, the 2019 Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award, the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, the 2021 Royal Medal, the 2021 ESHG Mendel Award, the 2022 ISPD Pioneer Award, the 2022 Lasker~DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award, the 2023 inaugural Tengchong Science Prize and the 2024 Jiménez Díaz Lecture Award.

Professor CS Lau is an international expert in rheumatology. He presided over the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (2016-2020); the Asia-Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (2006); the Hong Kong Society of Rheumatology (1997-2001). He founded the Hong Kong Arthritis & Rheumatism Foundation (2001) and was a member of the Outcomes in Rheumatology, European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Scientific Committee. He is an expert advisor to the HKSAR Government on multiple health-related policies and was appointed a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) representing the health sector, and a member of the 14th Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC in 2023.
His research interests include systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and related disorders. He is listed in the world's top 2% most cited scientists by Stanford University and has published over 450 articles and delivered more than 350 presentations. He is on the editorial board of many peer-reviewed journals.

Professor Philip Chiu is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Professor of Robotic Surgery, Director of Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center, and Director of Endoscopy Center, Institute of Digestive Disease of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also a Steering Committee member of Health and Medical Innovation Development of the Health Bureau of the HKSAR Government.
Prof Chiu is a pioneer in minimally invasive procedures, having performed Hong Kong's first endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for the treatment of early gastrointestinal cancers in 2004, as well as the world's first robotic gastric ESD and colorectal ESD in 2011 and 2020 respectively. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the State Scientific Technology and Progress Award from People's Republic of China, Spirit of Hong Kong Award on Innovation, and two Gold Medals with Congratulations of Jury at the International Exhibitions of Inventions of Geneva.

Professor Ivan Fan Ngai HUNG is currently Chair Professor of Infectious Diseases, Ru Chien and Helen Lieh Professor in Health Sciences Pedagogy, Associate Dean (Partnership & Engagement), Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, and Honorary Consultant in Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.
Professor Hung is a dual specialist in Infectious Disease and Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Bristol Medical School, England in 1996. After working in the University of Cambridge Medical School and Charing Cross Hospital, London, he returned to Hong Kong in 1999 and joined the Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital. He was awarded the Anti-SARS gold badge award by the Hospital Authority in 2003 for his role in combating SARS as frontline medical officer. He received the Sir Patrick Manson Gold Medal award for best M.D. thesis. He was awarded the Richard Yu Lectureship and medal in 2016 by the Hong Kong College of Physicians. He was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Researcher Award from the University of Hong Kong in 2019. He is Fellow and Regional Advisor of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, and fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America.
Professor Hung has published more than 400 international peer reviewed original articles, including research articles in the Lancet, Nature, the Lancet Infectious Diseases and the Clinical Infectious Diseases. He is currently the co-chief editor of the medical journal Vaccine. His research interest includes influenza, SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory virus antiviral treatment and vaccinology. He has pioneered the use of the triple combination of interferon beta-1b, lopinavir/ ritonavir and ribavirin in the treatment of hospitalized COVID-19 patients, resulting in significantly faster clinical alleviation and viral load suppression. He and his team also pioneered the application of topical imiquimod before intradermal influenza vaccination, which results in protection against heterologous non-vaccine and antigenically drifted viruses. He was also the first to prove convalescent plasma and H-IVIG reduced mortality in patients with severe influenza infection in prospective clinical trials. He is ranked as HKU Scholars in the world top 1% in 2013, 2018-2024 and most highly cited researcher in 2023 and 2024 by the Clarivate. He is the world-leading expert in the field of antiviral and vaccinology for influenza and COVID-19 infection. Professor Hung believes in innovation, team-work and clinical application of translational research in tackling threats from emerging infectious diseases.

Professor Gilberto Leung is Tsang Wing-Hing Professor in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at Queen Mary Hospital. He graduated from the University of London with M.B.B.S. in 1992 and joined HKU in 2005 where he later obtained his MS, PhD, and MD degrees. He holds an Intercalated BSc in Physical Anthropology and an LLB from the University of London, and an LLM in Medical Law and Ethics with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh. He is Immediate-Past President of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Associate Dean (Clinical Sciences Education) of his medical faculty and Co-Director of Centre for Medical Ethics and Law at HKU. His clinical and research interests cover endoscopic neurosurgery, neurooncology, neuroprotective therapy, medical education, and medical law and ethics, having published 219 peer-reviewed journal articles, 13 book chapters, and delivered 152 invited lectures.

Professor Vincent Mok's research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of dementia and developing diagnostics and treatments for dementia. He is the first to report the association between cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) and cognitive impairment in Asia and developed world's first stand-alone artificial intelligence (AI)-aided analysis of retinal fundus photographs for the screening of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and brain health. Major awards he obtained include "Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award in Natural Sciences (1st Class, Ministry of Education)", "Excellent Research Award and 10th Health and Medical Research Fund Anniversary Award (Food and Health Bureau)", "Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service (Government of HKSAR", and "Global Australian Award in Education, Science and Research Category (Advance Global Australians)". He now serves as the Master of S.H. Ho College of CUHK, Chairman of the Specialty Board of Neurology, and immediate past Chief of Neurology of CUHK.

Professor Siew Ng is Croucher Professor at the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, New Cornerstone Investigator, Associate Dean (Research) and Director of Microbiota I-Center (MagIC) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She co-founded GenieBiome Limited, with a mission to transform novel microbiome discoveries into effective diagnostics and therapeutics.
Prof Ng is an internationally renowned clinician-scientist in gastrointestinal diseases and microbiome medicine. Her main research interests include identification of microbial targets for biomarker development and modulation of microbiome for therapeutic applications in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), autism, colon cancer and long COVID. She is at the forefront of epidemiology, genetics, pathogenesis and treatment of IBD in Asia-Pacific and globally.
Prof Ng has published over 380 papers in international leading journals, including Nature Medicine and Lancet. She was the first female clinician-scientist to be awarded New Cornerstone Investigator in mainland China, and named Highly-cited Researcher by Clarivate for 5 consecutive years since 2020.
